Can I get a general critique on some of my photos? Have been taking photographs for a few years, mostly take photos of animals and occasional things around the ranch I live on. I don't have a camera of my own but I borrow my parents DSLR from time to time.

#1 cute framing but really bad(undesirable) dappled lighting across face.
#2 is very cute. Wish you wouldn't have cropped his tail off.
#3 again watch your framing. He lost an ear.
#4 has some harsh lighting
#5 is the best! Great framing. Nice even light. Cute expression. [emoji2]

All in all you've got some really nice shots here, though they all seemed to be pretty similar in composition. In most of these it looks like your subject is centered - other than the cow, and the cow seems to have one of it's ears partially cropped off.

I think #5 has the most potential but it looks like maybe you added some vignetting in post processing, which I guess for me just really doesn't work for the shot since the dog's fur is black to begin with and it sort of dampens the contrast between the dog an the background. If you were to get rid of the vignetting, and frame it so the dogs face is a little closer to the left and toward the top of the frame I think this would be a very exceptional shot.

I'd recommend some reading on composition, particularity the "rule of thirds", I think it will help a lot with your framing.

Thanks guys that is really helpful. I did put some vignette on that last picture. I have been working more on the rule of thirds, I took these other ones yesterday down at the creek-
