It looks like a really cool subject to photo under the right conditions. Is there a story behind this statue?

Tough light to shoot in by the looks of it. I bet this would be beautiful at sunset or sunrise. You could try to post-process and relieve some of the overly dark areas.

Well from what I gathered this was a gift to the city of Vancouver in the early 1970's, dont know much more.

Statue located in Stanlet park which is a must see to anyone going to Vancouver.
