Meet Glick & Abbey, the happiest pair of border collies I've ever seen. These are working dogs, and their humans didn't want pictures of them all fluffed and puffed; I'd hoped for a better sky, but at this time of year in Victoria, if it's not raining, you say, 'Thanks!' and carry on. As always, C&C very welcome.

Nice set. The owners should be very pleased with these. :)

Agree with Carol, great set John! These two are beautiful, very nice!
We lost our Miss Gabby earlier this year and we have been tinkering with the idea of getting a new friend, Border Collie is one of the breeds we are thinking about going with, so eager to work and please and beyond loyal, they are a wonderful breed!

Very nice! I have a black & white schnauzer and have difficulty with the contrast. Any tips on shooting this type of contrast or something in post?

Thanks PR! :)

Thanks! Mostly just getting the lighting right; these were all done with a speedlight and medium (36") softbox, bu there was some minor tweaking of whites, highlights, and local adjustment in LR to get the chest fur just the way I wanted it.

Nice set of photos overall and I particularly like the third one - something unique and fun and the fence w/plants in front frames them so well. The last one is a particularly beautiful close up. Dogs seem like they pose better than people! LOL

I like the posing and framing, but to me, these images all seem slightly underexposed.

Hmmm... I did dial them down slightly so as not to 'lose' any of the white fur, but they seem okay on my monitor.
