A glimpse of the Northern Lights can easily stop you in your tracks. This incredible phenomenon was caused by a coronal mass ejection two to three days prior.

You lucky Canuck bastard. I spent like 3 hours in -40 windchill a few weeks ago when they said we MIGHT get an aurora for once in Iowa, and zilch happened =(

Haha, I feel your pain. I'm still at a relatively low latitude so it's often a hit-or-miss when there are sightings. Big blizzard rolled in about 30 minutes after this shot was taken, could barely see the road in front of me.
