My gun dog TRAD is seen on his way back with a mallard training bumper during a session working blind retrieves this afternoon. The blind pole in the background lets me know where the bumper is so that I can cast TRAD to it using whistle signals and gestural cues to direct him to the bird. The dog is sent "blindly" in that he has not seen the bumper placed. This blind set up was measured using a laser range finder and was 300 yards from the starting line from where TRAD was sent to make the retrieve. TRAD made the retrieve with two casts. TRAD is a titled HUNTER RETRIEVER CHAMPION. "GOOD DAWG".
