G'day all

This adult goanna was about 1,8 metre / 6ft from head to tail and wandered through the area quite oblivious to people. Their best defence is to attack, so when cornered they will charge at any person who comes too close--before rapidly turning away and disappearing into the bush or up a tree
For me... I was lucky to be sitting quietly alongside my camp site and it ignored me as being of no threat

As always, feedback welcome

You have great presence of mind to sit there quietly enough to get these shots, especially knowing that you could have been charged.

These are terrific! Good job.

Beautiful creature and lovely shots, is this a Perentie? - I heard they can use their tail as a whip and slice your skin if you get too close?

Yikes! Great shots!

Very nice set.
