I don't think it is a chipmunk. Chipmunk has darker brown hair with black strip on the back, and a long less hair tail. My avatar is a chipmunk.
For a small subject like this, you can use wider aperture and increase your shutter speed. Calculate and see if you can use f4-6.

I think it is a Red squirrel & if you were to warm up the WB I think it would look more natural in colour.
