Going Green

Good day all:

To test out my equipment my wife dropped me off at our local falls area where I spent 3 1/2 hours today. Very long walk. Anyway I am still trying to determine why my shots have been soft/out of focus.

I will be posting many a pictures over the next couple of hours and I would like some Critique again on DOF, Composition and Lighting among other things.

I liked this shot of the leaves only because of the lighting.

lacks a strong subject, a crop could do some good, just around the lit leaves, maybe some brightening of that spot on post would help too.
