I'm talking about reflectors here! When is it good to use which? I remember reading in a magazine (or a site?)that said certain situations call for a specific reflector. I wish I knew where I read it. Anyways, I was playing around with my reflectors the other day and the gold side casted a warm glow. The white side casted a white light. I didn't use the silver yet.
But I think this is how each one it works... please correct me or explain if im wrong

-If im outside and there is a blue overcast or shady area... use the gold reflector
-If a person is really pale use a gold reflector
-Use a silver reflector if i want to cast silvery pearlized highlights

Are these correct? What are some other instances?

Anyone use a reflector?

I have yet to try mine, however for what I understood, white is for softer light than silver (less harsh reflection, more diffusion).

In only very general terms, yes.

-If im outside and there is a blue overcast or shady area... use the gold reflector
Maybe. It depends on how you want the shot to turn out and what your main light source(s) is.
-If a person is really pale use a gold reflector
Maybe. It depends on how you want the shot to turn out and what your main light source(s) is. I would probably use 2 reflectors 1 gold, one white, both lighting the same portion of the subject. You may also want to consider using a black reflector to subtract light.
-Use a silver reflector if i want to cast silvery pearlized highlights
Maybe. It depends on how you want the shot to turn out and what your main light source(s) is.

You can use 2 or more reflector colors at the same time in all the above situations: white/gold, gold/silver, gold/white, gold/white/silver, and don't forget the uses for the black reflector.
