I am not a tripod guru so i am seeking for thoughts about whether this is a good tripod/deal for the money.

If I needed one I would jump on it. Looks like a great deal for a traveling tripod. Just double check the Max Height , Max Weight to see if it works for you and your gear. Looks like it has a quick release plate head as well.

4.69' max height....Thats pretty short. For me personally, my back would ache like an old man the next day, but I am 6'2". If you need a lightweight, small tripod, its a pretty good deal. Manfrotto, carbon fiber, ball head...3 positives right there.

The 4.69 max height might just be the pod.... sans any head.
