Simple, it is an offbrand grip with knock off batteries, what do you expect?

where are you located?? i have a brand new canon battery grip for an XSi but its missing the tray that holds the 2 canon batteries but i have the tray for the 6 AA.

I wouldn't be cheap on something like that. That's like putting cheap knock-off oil into your vehicle, then wondering why it runs poorly.

I would absolutely be cheap on that. Why not? I mean, seriously it's not that difficult of a part, it has no effect on picture quality whatsoever.

I say spend the extra money on nicer lenses, but on things that do not effect the picture then why not?

Also, 3rd party batteries are often fine particularly for costing 1/5th of the price.
