Our local hawk Buddy under lousy light. These are heavy crops so they're not that sharp.

Nice set. The last one is my favourite, although I might have been tempted to clone out that OOF small branch sticking into his "wing pit".

Thanks. I never remove anything from my wildlife photos in case I want to enter them in contests

Notice I said "tempted".:biggrin-93:

So is that a "general" rule in contests that you can't "remove" anything. I know the National Geographic doesn't like that sort of stuff, others, I don't know about - just curious. I wonder how they would know, if you do a "very good" job of removing the "problem".

Great set, No.2 is my fav, loving the change of direction capture.

Ha Ha I did notice that "tempted"
From what I've seen most all wildlife contest have this rule. I'm not sure if they could tell, but to me it's all about integrity.

Point taken :thumbyo: . We obviously have a different point of view - no problem. For me, it is all about the artistry and the raw capture is just the beginning. If you have ever looked at any of Art Morris' images, you might not know this, unless you follow his blog, but he does do "cleanup" on a lot of his images, some more than others and yet he seems to win awards and acclamations. I am a firm believer in respecting the right of every photographer to follow where his heart leads him and my "suggestions" are just that, suggestions. They are based on what I, personally, would do to an image, if it was mine. That's all. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Yup no problem. I agree 100% everyone should do as they feel.
