C&C wanted ;)

I am thinking that there was something you "saw" there ... try to concentrate on that vision and then try to figure out how to reproduce that.

Thanks guys ;)

I'm just begining...so far finding things that will make good photo is my hardest part!...too bad thats the main part of photography! I'll try better next time.

I like it...but I took it ;).

seems out of focus....and well i jsut dont get it...hmmm try in focus and maybe not an angled crop seems odd to me.....

Indeed. I think you have an interesting subject, might want to try turning it into a B&W with super contrast, or grabbing it from a different angle/focal length.

seems out of focus

Its not.

personally i actually like the composition of the photo...makes me wanna see more of the vines, or see them continue going up or somehting....cool shot

i find this pic interesting.

I like it. It's not captivating, but it's a well-composed shot. It's sharp, properly-exposed, and the lines lead the eye well. I think you have a good eye for composure which gives you a foundation for taking good pictures of interesting subjects.

It could be something to hang up in a gardening room, convert to B&W and hang in a guest room, or maybe a half-bath.

I have never done anything like this before, but i thought it might look cool in portrait and B&W. I am not to good at PS so i bet it could look better but here it is.

I would have focused on 3 of the leaves as opposed to a larger portion of the strand. I think it's well composed, and well angled, and well lit. I would like to see these leaves closer up with water dripping off of them.

In editing, I would have saturated the greens a tad, and increased the contrast a tad.

Otherwise, I think it works - and its pretty good for newbie.
I enjoy taking pictures of wildlife and plants. They're actually more difficult than it would seem. Depending on the subject, lighting and composition can make plantlife look really amazing and artistic - but its hard to do.

Within the next year, I'm moving to Brazil from Arkansas. I actually am looking forward to new subject matter. Palm Trees, exotic animals and exotic fruits. All stuff that would make for more interesting photography (at least to me).

I agree about trying to determine a focal point. Seems like the picture doesn't grab the viewer at all.

Thanks so much for your critique! I will keep all your advice in mind next time I shoot! I do like the b/w version...I think I'll play around with that some!

I am using a p&s right now so focusing in on just a few leaves is hard, but I will try it...I agree, that would look better.

Oh...btw...Ron, why is 'Virginia Creeper' bad? We always like our vines lol!.
