Hey guys i just wanted to share this video, its amazing. And i do have a question to accompany it. How do photographers get that smooth motion in their photos. It looks almost like kenburns, but you can see that the camera is actually moving around the tree for example. I would assume they use rails and somehow have a dolly that moves in tiny increments, but that seems hard and unreasonable, must be a better way!

Well, sorry to say this...but it will be tiny increments...not as small as you may think...but it isn't a cake walk by any means...nothing this beautiful comes easily...nothing of value in this world ever comes at an easy price...keep searching for easy...you'll miss true beauty...

This guy sat out there for hours and hours...taking photo after photo...

no.. its not photo. Thats video with time stretch faster. I have no idea. You assumption about a rail system is probably correct with smooth gear system that will move it really slowly for long period of time.

I know thats how its done in a movie industry, so i assumed it would be the rails. Thanks for the help ;D.
@agentdrex I am well aware with these things it tends to be usually tends to be a remote shooter with a set increments. Its the smooth motion and the path thats amazing. Some shots are video, but others seem to look like a photo, such as at about 45 seconds, that looks like photos to me.

When the video ends, there are two images showing. The one on the left is for the video you linked to. The one on the right is a video explaning how it was done.

!!! Awesome!!! thank you very much :D
still does not show how he did all the smooth movement.

Build, have something that has wheels or can be push on the slider that mount the camera, Use a camera slider mounted a tripod and build a motor. It'll push it a by a little that you won't tell the difference much, leave it for a 15 minutes or however long you want and there you go. That's how you get those smooth movement, it's call time Lapse. I'm building a camera slider, something similar like that for my video production next week. The motor will make the movement smoother than sliding with hands. GL.

Build something like this.

Then you can do this. like the video you show.
