If that is true that man needs to have his liver checked and rechecked. Who has time to drink 24 beers a day?

If you stay awake 12 hours that makes 2 beers per hour. if this now are US pints and not the much larger UK pints, than it is possible.

My dad's uncle used to drink a case (24 cans) of Hamm's a day. Most of those were consumed between 5pm and the time he went to bed.

If you stay awake 12 hours that makes 2 beers per hour. if this now are US pints and not the much larger UK pints, than it is possible.

US pints are stupid. A pint is 16 ounces, in the US, but "pint" glasses come in a regular 14ounce and a large, 20 ounce. Neither of which is a pint!
