Grad dress photography please help

So i would like to take pictures for my sisters prom for a present. I currently have her dress and i was thinking of taking pictures of it on the bed. Any ideas of just taking pics of the dress itself?

You should get in it, and take a mirror shot....

just kidding, you can hang it in a big window, with the sun coming though, you will see lots of wedding dress pictures like this, but a prom dress, I dont know.
