Grainy and yellowish images with an EM5 2

I've just picked up my first camera, the Olympus OMD EM5 2 with the 12-40 pro lens.

I admit I don't know a whole lot about the kit or photography in general, hence the auto mode allowed me to get up and running and into 'learn mode' quickly.

I've taken a few test shots whilst trying to work out how everything works. They have turned out with this horrible vertical line/grain through all the images. Additionally all the images appear with a strong yellow hue.

I am shooting in auto mode.

I was concerned that it may be a camera flaw, however probably not. Can anyone help me configure the camera so I avoid these issues?

Hi,
Those images look really weird. Almost if there was some kind of post processing (e.g. a certain funky effect) was done in camera.
Let´s try to get this sorted out:

• Do the images look normal, when you view them on your camera monitor (zoom in)?
• If yes, how did you import the files to your computer? Did you use some kind of software that might have applied some kind of effect?
• If not:
  - are there some in-camera effects you can apply to the image? Try to set everything to 0.
  - if there are no applied effects, try to shoot in RAW (image quality setting) and post the image here, if you can´t view it on your computer.

Must be some kind of in camera effect, learn your camera so you know all your options and functions by heart.
For now if you ot sure go to the camera store where you got the camera so they can set the camera to work normally.

Do a factory reset.
1. Power on with [menu] held down.
2. When LCD lights, release [menu].
3. menu, down to spanner, right, down to LCD brightness, info, ok

You're now at the banner which states the model name.
Hold [menu]+[ok] together for a few seconds to get the hardware reset screen. [ok] to proceed. You'll know that the reset is successful if the time and date need setting when you next power the camera up.

I thought that as well - I did a full factory reset and the problem still persists. The issue is it was like this straight out of the box. I did some research and apparently its a known issue with the shutter so I've sent it off under warranty. Thanks for everyones help.
