Interesting to see the differences between similar animals a continent apart. This is the female side of a pair that I see several times a day outside my office window. We call these Hairy Woodpeckers and the male has a red spot on his head. They are just a little larger than a fist.

Tell yours that its cousin Stateside says "Hey."
