Green Heron Having A Snack

While visiting Wheatley Provincial Park, I saw a green heron that was stalking a dragonfly on a log. After waiting about 25 minutes for the bird to attack the dragonfly, it finally did. I captured the moment of attack.
I was going to leave soon too because it wasn't doing anything, but now I am glad I stuck around. Patients.

Waiting is most certainly worth it.
A lot of nature photography involves waiting.
If I would have left like I was planning to, I would have missed this fantastic shot and I would have really hated that.
