Hi,

tommorow i need to shot a group of 8 people, in a line. at a local stadium.

the day will be overcast, and naturally lit from above. but it may be a little dark in there.

i think i will need to use fill flash..would that be a good idea?
also what f stop would i need, to keep everyone in focus?

i'm shooting with a canon 350d, with a sigma 2.8 20-40 lens.

any help would be much appreciated.

You shouldn't have a problem if they are in a line the depth of field wont really be an issue.. At least 5.6 but 8 would be good to. 11 16 22 are all okay..

Just remember even with digital nothing replaces Shoot Shoot Shoot make sure you get many exposures of the group. Even in a small group like that someones bound to blink, look the other way, or just have a bad expression with multiple shots you are bound to get a good one. And yes F/8 should be good for your group just shoot it check the screen for the right exposure and reshoot till you get the right one. I know, a little basic but you asked.
