taken this afternoon, I really like the expression ... but am slightly turned off that I didn;t get his entire arm in the shot ... can't decide how much it bothers me though :?

Does it look funny or is it just me?

Oh and yeah I know the band of window behind him is pretty distracting too ... will have to do something about that

I think that's damn good: you can't get babies and kids to pose in just the right placeat just the right time; you have to make the best of what they offer and shoot spontaneously. I think you've made a good job of the opportunity you had

i love the child's expression. great job on snapping at the right moment. as John said, these pics are not easy to come by.

Looks good. I don't mind the arm being cut off but I don't like that the ear is cut off. Great capture though.

Jen you are far to hard on yourself. Unless it's a professional shot for clients it's darn lovely. Any parent would love it (unless they took it and then they'd worry about the ear - LOL).
