With regards to composition, I think the first came out best, but the person gets a bit lost there. As I like the person on the crane very much (scale and action!), I would normally like the third best over all three of these, but I am not overly fond of composition here. Had the crane been positioned more on the right, with even more room for the person to walk into, I'd have loved that one.

Thanks for the C&C. I tried cropping the third one a few different ways, and this just seemed the best. Usually you want the moving person/object walking in to more of the frame, but here, it just felt right leaving the openness (if there is such a word) showing the vast empty space the crane is sitting in, sort of makes the crane seem more "up in the air". I also felt the person was too small and lost in the vastness of the crane when I tried having the width of the crane in the frame.
