Just finished this for a client.

Is that her real skin color? The surface smoothing I think is a little drastic. I like 1 I would've hit it a little with liquify, I don't think 2 is very flattering.

both images is maybe not what I would have picked out from the bunch of images I took. But thats what the client wanted. Anyway I don't see what you find so unflattering with nr 2. Yes, I even toned down her skin color a little bit.

And Allways funny when one get a comment about skin softing, when you put out a 800px image from a 21mpix file.

Sorry, it's probably just the way this girl looks then. The unflattering part in 2 is her mid section and arms... There's a visual 20-30lb difference between the top photo and bottom one for me. I think it's fixable but probably not worth the time it would take to fix the mid section. The snow also looks a little better in the first, but I honestly didn't notice it until now so you did a pretty good job with it.
