Has anyone here had Lasik?

Per eye. Wasn't too bad though. I financed at 0% for 18 months.

My wife had it done last fall. She has wanted it for many years because she was completely dependant on her glasses (and occasionally contacts).

It was pricey (although not as much as I'm hearing). It was $2100 per eye and that was the premium option PRK with future touch ups included etc. The cheaper option, which I think was regular LASIK and touch ups not included, was $1400 per eye.

I thought that my medical insurance plan would cover it all, so we went with the more expensive option. Turns out that only about 1/4 was covered, c'est la vie.

She was worried but everything went fine. It was 4-5 days until she wasn't sensitive to bright light and about a month until she felt fully 'normal' again...but living without glasses is great for her.

I would do it myself, but one of my eyes has a condition that would require a different kind of surgery, which is said to be very painful. I'm still thinking about it, because even with glasses, the vision in my left eye is still very poor.

I used to see 20 / 150, and absolutely hated wearing glasses and / or putting contacts in my eyes.

9 months ago, I finally decided to spend 3k on the lasik surgery performed in Tampa, FL.

The day of the surgery I was nervous, but it wasn't bad at all. After the surgery, you will have to / want to be in a dark room and rest / sleep all day. Your eyes will instantly water if you open your eyes, but just for that first day.

When I woke up the next day and went for my checkup, I was testing 20/20.

By my one week check up, I was at 20/15.

Needless to say, I am very happy that I did the surgery!

Let me know if you have any detailed questions, since im only 9 months out from it, I still remember everything.
