They're replacing the Bayer pattern. Wow!

I wonder what the new pattern looks like...


edit: ahh, my guess from the article is that they've replaced half the greens with their "panchromatics." Neat idea. I'm excited to see how well it works.
 
Maybe the rumor that the new Nikon D3 has a dynamic range of 7.5 isn't so far off. I wonder if Kodak clued Nikon in and that's why it has taken so long for Nikon to bring the 3 out. Do you think that their working together in the past might have anything to do with it?

The other question is who gets the filters first? The public or the manufactures. We shall see I guess.

I may have to hold off on my next DSLR purchase. I was considering re-upping around the beginning of next year, but this makes me think I should wait and see!
