think Its a redtailed hawk

What I find disconcerting about this shot is the same thing I would see if this was a human; it is essentially an up the nostril shot. In this case no nose, but the limb becomes as important an element in the composition as the bird.

I would also say Red Tailed. Nice shot. Would have been better if it turned to the left a little to get some light on its face. But when you take pictures of wildlife you get what you can.

I miss seeing owls everyday in the morning and afternoon. But great photo : )
