im not usually one to shoot wildlife, but i was visiting my folks in CT, and enjoying the morning sun on the deck with my mom when we heard this shrill scream, and this hawk came down and grabbed what we think might be a woodpecker.
i was able to get this from the deck above, as the hawk just stood on its prey deciding what to do. feeling limited by my 55-200, i went down to get a better (closer) shot, and he spooked and bolted...with his lunch.
