oh my god my brain is pulsing in my head like a flintstones toe stub

asia and i just spent two hours learning about the exposure triangle, our camera modes, when to use which mode, how the camera's internal light meter works, etc....

reading articles, watching videos, and looking through our viewfinder seeing how the settings work.

uuuggghhhhh

on the plus side... 2 solid hours of quality father daughter time. and i'm pretty sure we should produce much better images the next time out.

It is a little overwhelming, isn't it??? It's taken me 3 months to really understand how it works and be able to finally shoot in manual mode!! :D

I hate reading technical stuff. I'm more of a get out there and try it kind of person. Thank God for digital SLR's. =)

Once you had that moment that it clicked, weren't you just like, duh!?

I think everybody goes through it. It seems so daunting and complicated, and then suddenly it isn't. Then quickly it becomes second nature.

That's very cool Naptime. I'm planning to dive into learning the technical aspects this year also. Time to stop guessing and start knowing. It's cool you have the time with your daughter like that too. Congrats.

I would imagine this to be very true, if only my short term memory were better.
