I took this photo inside Old Town Church on St Mary's, Isles of Scilly. The camera (Sony A55) was resting on the font at one end of the church facing the window at the end. Having taken a trial shot to get a target EV, I then took four shots each one EV apart.
Back home, I found that three of the four underexposed the church interior, but did show the window well. The final shot had the interior OK. I first used Photoshop HDR to merge them, but the result was very flat. I then used Nik HDR efex pro, which gave the result below (without any tweaking):

This is not perfect, but it is a lot better than the photoshop one. In particular, the front of the altar seems to be washed out.
I would welcome any suggestions for further improvements.
