He just wouldn't open his eye

I guess it was just too bright. He was hidden in the tree so well that 2 people and a dog walked right underneath him and never saw him.. I got my pics and left him there to sleep. Comments welcome...

Those tufts are so adorable. Number 2 looks like he's reclining on the tree, but 3 is my favorite.

I've never seen a great horned owl, and now I know why they are called that.

There were 2 other people that were walking on the trail and the owl followed them around with his head. The sun was behind me and really bright so he just sort of squinted at me.. I think he was happy there were no crows around... His wife landed in a cluster of pine trees nearby, but I couldn't find her...

How cool. But you should have given him a stern lecture on opening his eyes for the camera.
