Out of curiosity, I googled and found a top link which was an NPR article on "Stories of Self-awareness and Gay Culture". After I read it, I see now how such a word invokes a suggestion of a context.

And may I ask you further what "cutting up" means? I suppose you meant he "posed" for you. I want to be sure lest I make another incidence of miscommunication in future. :LOL:

"Cutting up" would refer to clowning around, being silly, "striking a pose" for the camera.

Hey, no worries about it, it wasn't a bad thing, I just didn't understand what you were getting at.

It's funny, I guessed "cutting up" might refer to the actual cutting of the film in the camera. Good to know now. For me slangs are the most difficult part when learning a foreign language. Thanks, Robert.
