I believe the flags (if they are still used) and the location abbreviation (two letters at top of your screen name) are set by your IP Address location.

Well, you certainly are getting around the planet... now you have US. Are you using a VPN? If so, it may be connecting you to servers around the globe and that will change the nationality displayed.
