I'm David and I have been doing photography on and off since March 2005.

I know ferny from these here forums, amongst others and I am mainly a digital camera user. I use my film camera on occasion, but I can't develop my own films so I am mainly a digital user.

I have enjoyed taking photos for long time always using the auto mode,
now I have a real flash gun and help I don't understand the manual it's for a nikon D40

How do I get the flash to work without resorting to auto mode
