I'm Jason, an avid photographer for most of my life. My father helped cultivate my love for photography by passing down his old student SLR from the 70s. I mainly cover airshows, severe weather, and other such documentary roles, but really, if it catches my eye, I'll likely stop, grab my camera from the trunk of my car, and snap a few pictures.
Like I said in my title, I live on a dirt road that no GPS recognizes, but it's an ideal place for me! I live in the South Mountains of North Carolina, so I'm surrounded by beautiful scenery and wildlife. A 5 minute drive puts me in a state park known for horse trails, waterfalls, and hiking. However, 15 minutes the other way puts me out in the flatlands locally called the "tornado alley of Western NC." Known for supercell development, tornadoes, and bigfoot sightings (not kidding, unfortunately... the last one made it on CNN), this area is perfect for storm photography!
So I look forward to talking to folks, picking up tips on how to improve (I'm always looking to learn more!) and hopefully passing on a bit of my own limited knowledge!
Jason
PS: It amuses me to no end that you guys are partly sponsored by the EAA's AirVenture, as this year will be my 12th in a row going there to capture it on digital media and direct a few planes while I'm at it!
