Help a noob!! Please!

I'm posting this here because I thought more advance photographers would be able to help me out more.

So, I'm getting a Digital Rebel XT with kit lens, should be here within 4 days. I'm in a situation where I cannot buy another lens for about a year but can afford to buy one this week.

I found these old lenses for less than 100 dollars.
- Canon FD 1.8 50mm Prime Portrait Lens
- Canon FD 4.0 70-210mm Zoom Lens


Do you guys know if it'll work with my camera ? Thanks. :hail:

Yes but you need an adapter, can't infinity focus and it's kind of a PITA

Using FD lenses on an EOS DSLR is definitely a serious photo-geek activity. Not recommended for noobs.

Besides, the Canon 50mm f/1.8 that fits on your XT is about $80 brand new. The Canon 75-300 f/4-5.6 for your camera is about $160 brand new.

I gotta say... you could get another lens... I have the exact same camera and I don't think I've taken off the stock lens yet.... wait that's a lie. I went to the zoo so I used my 75-300 there.... what are you shooting? Might help...
