Help from educated professional needed

Hi,
After more than decade in Digital photography as semipro I received e-mail with comment to one my picture. I cant understand what they want to tell me. Can please somebody translate in simple English the comment to a picture: “Lighting detracts from the concept or context of the image.”

Translated to the most basic and simple terms possible, I think they were saying that in their opinion, the picture sucked.

I would need to see the image in question...

However, although worded badly i would assume, “Lighting detracts from the concept or context of the image” to mean, the lighting you have chosen for that image takes something away from the idea, which would have otherwise made it work better.

Thanks guys for the answers. I assume something like that, but wasn’t sure. Arch there is only one question (by the way I checked the forum and cant find how) “How to upload sample of the picture to the posting?” But however thanks for the answers.
