Help transferring photos and videos off of iPhone to computer?

My wife's iPhone does not appear in "My Computer" and "syncing" with iTunes does not work.

Can somebody please tell me how to get the photos and videos off an iPhone and onto a computer?

With iTunes open, click on the device in the navigator on the left side. There should be a "photos" tab on the device screen. Make sure that sync is checked and that you've got a folder setup to sync to.
