Help!!! Trying not to panic

If it isn't too late, get some tissue paper to use as a diffuser over your built in flash. It won't give you 'pro' results but it is 10x better than the little bare flash on its own.

If it is too late - how did it go?

Like some others said...shoot RAW anyway.

You can always turn a RAW file into a JPEG when you need to...but you can't get the quality or flexibility of a RAW when all you have is a JPEG. Consider it an extra layer of safety.
I don't question this, Mike, since I don't have any RAW experience as my P&S doesn't have the option. But I shoot in JPEG all the time with some pretty awesome results, and the keepers I merely save in TIFF. How much better could RAW actually be to be worth using it?

I believe it went fairly well for me. The guys that hired me are pleased with the results and I was able to make a little money in the process. My biggest complaint is that I wish I would have had something I could have sat on instead of being on my knees the whole time. The knees savers I wore as a catcher in baseball came to mind.
