Help with an AutoCad?

I've been trolling the interweb all day to try and find a resolution to a minor issue with AutoCad LT and I thought I'd ask here in case I get lucky and someone here knows the answer

In layout view in the modelspace within a viewport if I draw a polyline and and set the lineweight to say 0.5 in the layers panel, then draw another polyline but this time set the global with to 0.5 I get two different thicknesses on my screen but surely these should be the same?

I'm thinking its a scaling issue but not too sure as I'm working with a former colleagues template.

Check his defaults and scaling as you said.

No problem it's been a long time since I've used AutoCAD but I remember having similar issues in 2009/10 and they were due to defaults.

I believe if you use the LTSCALE command you should be able to scale it to the right size if i am understanding your issue

Thanks mate, it's not LTSCALE though. Went through a couple of things today but no joy. I get the impression there is no easy answer to this.
