Help!

Hi im trying to use macro on this finepix 2650 camera to take a really closeup picture of an old penny i have.

However no matter what i do, the flash causes the picture to be completely whiteout.

Can someone help me!

You could diffuse the flash with some tissue paper ... or don't use it (tripod mounted).

I used tissue paper but it still whites the entire coin out.

well, where are you doing it? what kind of ambient light is there? what settings are you using?

I tried inside and out with macro on.

2M-F with and without flash on.

Use a tripod

either turn the flash off, and use another light source (lights in the house, windows or take the coin outside) or bounce the flash off the ceiling or walls if possible. If the room is reasonably well lit you shouldn't need the flash at all.
OR - are you taking the photo directly in front of the coin... ie the flash is bouncing right back at you as it would in a mirror - if so, try taking the pic on an angle, that may work.

Yeah i tried taking it outside and using a flashlight.

Seems no matter what i do it comes out blurry.

The second "needs to look like this" photo has the penny parallel to the image sensor.

Your's has the bottom of the penny closer than the top.

Your's looks like you are to close, and are inside the minimum focus distance your camera is capable of. Page 43 of your user's manual.

KmH is right, going by the photobucket link, you are simply too close for the camera to focus. Best bet is to move back a bit, and crop the photo once done.
