My biggest nit to pick would be the reflections from the water on #4 make it look like she has some serious stretch marks. And the blown background on #2 doesn't work for me, it's a little harsh. Other than that, nice captures.

Love them! My only negative is the grey-ish colour to the background in the top half of #4 ... otherwise absolutely great.

The "grayish" areas in the background are actually wet sand, nothing I could really do anything about it unfortunately. The pool where Christina lay was acutally in somewhat of a depression, so shooting at eye level, all I got was sand and no water in the background. And at that close a distance and only f/4 with that 180 f/2.8 Nikkor, the background went totally out of focus with that gorgeous butterly bokeh for which that lens is renown!

I feel like the model needs spray sun lotion to make her skin shiny a bit. Plus I think you need a lot more light on her. Maybe a large reflector or additional lighting. I like the placement of the sun though.

She had supplemental lighting provided by two Sunpak 544's triggered remotely. I usually go no higher than 20%, 30% at the max, contribution by the flashes, so the look remains more natural looking. It is a delicate balancing act on our beaches because the sand is so white it too acts as a reflector. The problem I have had with suntan lotion to make her skin shinier in digital is it tends to blow highlights, especially if there is rim lighting with the sun behind her.

I agree on pictures 2 and 3 there could be a bit more light on the model... Shot 4 is by far the best but i would have had her arch a bit more from her hips to give her more of a curve! Great work STM!

Nice pictures! But dont like the posture on the 2. and 3. It dont seem comfy for the model. I Get tired tired just by watching it. Super fresh on the 1. And 4.

#1 - very static composition. Passport-ish angle. Arms straight by side, no triangles, no lines, nothing. No offense, but I wouldn't use that as a vacation snapshot in a family albumn.

#2 - Holy armpits, batman! Rule #1 - armpits almost nnnnnever look good, even on beautiful women (not saying she is, just speaking in general). In this one, it's almost like she's showcasing them. The angle and pose is contorting her all up too. Smile looks contrived.

#3 - Very contrived pose and smile. Exposure seems a little off. The angle is straight on and her body is flat to the camera, posing 101

#4 - This one is the best of the group IMHO, but looks quite "flashy" I would have used a more triangular base with her arms in the pose. But overall this is a decent shot. I also would have angled her out of the photo a little more, in other words turn her a tad more toward the camera, that would also have thrown her body out of focus juuust a tad. Hot spot on shoulder. Also, on my high-end crt, I can see whta appears to be some editing articact to the left of her mouth from the camera's perspective, it almost looks like light orange.
