It was truly a magnificent sunrise that began at 5:28 am CST, the second at 5:50 am and the last in this series was shot at 5:56 am

BD, this is a very nice sequence. I would be curious to know where they were shot. My only comment is about the second one and the "tree" sticking up into the lower part of the sun. Maybe if you had moved a bit to the left so that it (the tree) wasn't involved. Regardless, I still like the second one the best.

Maybe a bit of "cloning" or content aware fill is in order.

Thanks, WG. I shot seven in a row as the boat drifted by so I am sure there is one sans the tree..I think it gives it some sense of scale but will try the other to be sure.

You are right, it does give it a sense of scale, but I still think it would be a better picture if it wasn't poking into the sun itself. Would be okay off to one side.

the second does it for me accentuating the robes of moss draped around this aquatic forest, very cool, slightly eerie and the tree partially in front of the sun is nice IMO

great series. like that you put the time in shows just how quick the sunrise evolves. I am a big fan of # 2 un edited. IMHO the tree that is touching the sun adds to the image for me. I think it adds depth

(Actually better than all right. These are simply gorgeous. This says diptych to me ... yeah a diptych may be cliche-ish ... but that's what I see. Is this a swamp ... many biting insects ... is there salt water tidal intrusions ... we really don't have any large swampy areas like that out here. I am jealous.)

Nice images. I love the sun in #2 and over all I would probably pick it as #1. But I love the ripples in the water of #3.
