Heron in the Huron River

Spotted this heron just standing there, chillin' in the man-made falls on the Huron River. Unfortunately I couldn't get closer for a better shot and 75-300mm lens was tapped out at 300mm.

That is one of the reasons I went with a 600mm lens for bird photography. My 300mm often left me frustrated, because I could quite reach.

And see, had I brought one of my FinePix bridge cams with me I could have had a better shot because they both go well beyond 300mm.
