Just joined this group today as I am looking for advice and help on a Canonet QL19 E camera that I obtained many years ago. I purchased from a thrift store for my daughter to use in a photography class, but found after getting it home that it didn't work. Since I had also purchased a different camera off of eBay that did work, I never really looked into why the Canonet wasn't working. I'm finding now that this little camera is quite the collector's item and would like to know a little more about it. Can anyone provide more info? I thought it was the shutter not working, but I've just found that it has no battery and gathering from what I just read online, the shutter is E=electronic. Is that correct? I will obtain a battery tonight. If that's all that's wrong, I'll be thrilled.
Can anyone tell me what the dollar value would be for a working QL19 E?
