I don't live in Nashville, but I'm not that far away. My oldest son is at school in Murfreesboro, just outside of Nashville, and I have a very close friend that I go visit every now and then, so I'm out that way several times a year. It might just be time to have a TPF meetup for TN...

A part of me wants to "lock" the forum all through January - the mix of new photographers heading to be pros and the established members all suffering the winter blues!

Then again SOOO much more happens here than just discussions about pros and pro stuff and all that pro worded stuff

@ Charlie: What about the "Black Friday" and "Cyber Monday" pros? you don't need to wait for January any more. That said, probably the simplest way is just to have a list of useful posts that address this issue. Then we cut-and-paste the links instead of getting worked up about it. Heck, maybe even I'll do it.

How about just a list of common sense rules? Like:

If you have owned your first DSLR for less than a year, you are not a PRO... and not ready to go PRO!
IF you can't achieve perfect Exposure at least 95% of the time on any subject, in any conditions, you are not ready to go PRO!
If you can't achieve perfect Focus / DOF at least 95% of the time on any subject, in any conditions, you are not ready to go PRO!
If you have no clue about the Exposure Triangle, you are not ready to go PRO!
If you don't know how to use flash very proficiently, you are not ready to go PRO!
Just because you own an Entry Level DSLR, and some kit lenses... does not mean you are ready to go PRO!
If your photos are really popular on Facebook, that does not mean you have the knowledge and skill to go PRO!
If you think instagram, selective color and natural light photography are the only way to shoot... you are not ready to go PRO!

Some rules along these lines... please feel free to add to them as you see fit!
