Well, I remember you and I live in Nashville. I don't know you well enough to like or dislike you so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one

Nashville is an amalgamation of a bunch of smaller towns and communities, like most larger urban areas these days. Any idea what part of town you are looking into?

Lots of interesting stuff around here to shoot. Take a look at One Of My Sites for some ideas. If you're here by May do NOT miss the Tennessee Renaissance Festival.

Yeah, I've been in Nashville several times in between tours (because the company I was running sound for is based out of there... well... White House, actually, not exactly Nashville, but close enough. :lol:

) I haven't gotten a chance to REALLY explore it though, because any time I was in the city, it was for a specific reason.

As far as what area's we're looking at... not 100% sure. A couple my husband and I are really good friends with gave us a map with outlined, color coded areas to look into, haha. We'd like to be as close to the city as possible without breaking the bank or living in the projects.

She has as far as Crieve Hall circled and as close as Music Row, haha. The further out areas, I'm told are easy access to the city, vs. some of the other areas the same distance that make it harder to get to the city due to traffic.

Knowing my husband, he's gonna try to get as far out of the city as he can, without making the drive unbearable, because he's a country boy and always freakin worried about "air quality". He won't let me open the windows in the front of our current apartment now, because it faces the high way that, yes we can see, but isn't exactly in our front yard. :lol:

*I* however, will want to be as CLOSE as possible. Screw air quality. I've survived worse. :biglaugh:

The Creive Hall area is very nice, not exorbitantly expensive-nice, just nice. I go through there on my way to work. The problem with it is that the roads into downtown plug up quickly so traffic can be bad at times. The good thing in that respect is that both I-65 and I-24 are relatively close (5 miles or so).

There are quite a few very nice condos and apartments right in downtown, but I have no clue whatsoever of the cost. If you want true suburban style then my recommendation would be the outskirts of Belleview. It's on the west side of town and probably about 10 miles from downtown. I-40 is convenient but in the mornings it is frequently a parking lot. The nice thing is that once you get out of Belleview it is completely rural farmland, and the division line is like it was cut with a knife. One side of the Harpeth River is greater Nashville (i.e. Belleview) and the other side is rural nothingness. There are number of smaller communities out that direction to if you REALLY want to get out of town

Nashville's biggest problem is traffic. Not LA traffic or New York traffic but it's pretty bad for a mid-size town. I used to work right in the middle of downtown and it was about 10 miles or so to home. At peak times that 10 miles could take 45 minutes or better. At non-peak times I could run it in about 15 minutes.
