Hi, I'm new to the forum. I just want to know few things for introduction.

I currently have 4 lenses.
-The kit lens (Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6)
-A telephoto lens (Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM)
-A macro lens (Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM)
-And a wide angle lens (Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM).


I really like my macro lens. and I would like to get a 50mm lens for portraits.

How about you? How many lenses do you currently have? What kinds? Which one is your favorite? What lens do you want to buy next?

Lol, well at the moment I have three. In order of which gets the most use:

70-200 mm Sigma F/2.8 with OS
85 mm Nikkor AFS-G F/1.8
50 mm Nikkor AFS-G F/1.8

I also have two teleconverters, both Sigma, a 1.4x and a 2x. That's pretty much it for my lens selection, though I will probably be adding more at some point. Or just keep working on my "get Sparky to adopt me" plan. Lol Welcome to the site BTW

I have:

Nikon AF 24-85 mm f/2.8-4D. This lens has a 1:2 Macro capability from 35 mm to 85 mm.
Nikon AF 80-200 mm f.2.8D.

Both lenses are favorites for what each can do.

At this time, there are no other lenses i want.

IMO, 85 mm and longer is better for portraits than 50 mm.

Depends what you take I guess. I use only old Canon FD MF lenses and one Sigma.

300 F/2.8L

500 F/4.5L

800 F/5.6L

100-300 F/5.6L

Sigma 500 F/4.5 APO

All with an adaptor on the Sony NEX-7. I do have a kit lens 18-55, which has had two photos taken with it. Its around somewhere.

If I had to pick one lens I don't have that would suit, it would be the Canon 1200 F/5.6L ........... and a pickup truck to carry it and a very friendly free grant. A 400mm is missing, so maybe a Nikkor AI 400 F/3.5 could be useful. Another NEX-7 would come well before that though. Two bodies are far more important.
