Nikon D7200 is my new precious. I would like to shoot some photo in the forest near my house. I'm thinking about buying some tripod. I found something like this Camrock Tripod Monopod TH76M for Nikon D7100 D7200 D750 D800 D810 D600 D610 D4 | eBay
I know its from China but whatever. It seems like this is quite good device. What do you guys think about it? Should i buy this? or maybe something else would be better? As I said, I'm new in this world so every information would be awesome to hear

As with anything in photography (and in life in general) you get what you pay for. Generally these foreign made tripods tend to be flimsy and poorly made. The heads don't operate very smoothly and generally have issues locking in place. You have a few options to consider,

1. Can you get a used tripod? There are a lot of great used Bogen (and the like) tripods out there in this price range. They will be a bit bigger and not as practical to move around but substantially higher quality.
2. Can you extend your price range a bit? There of course is a huge spectrum out there but you can get a really good tripod in the 100-150USD range.
3. Do you even need a tripod?

As that article eludes to, do you need a tripod? why do you want one? I would start shooting with the camera, understand when and why you would need a tripod then take a look at what you may want to get. Personally I use one when shooting big cameras (4x5, medium format system cameras etc.) in the field that simply cant be hand held. I use one at night/sunset/sunrise for long exposures and I use one when shooting wildlife. When I'm shooting wildlife I do not use it to steady the shot I use it because I generally sit there for a looooong time waiting and I dont want my arms to get tired holding my ancient 300mm manual focus lens that might as well be a brick (read as: I am lazy and a tripod aids and embeds my laziness).

Consider a monopod. More stable than handheld, but without the bulk of the tripod.

Hi again,
thanks for the article! You know I'm thionking about buying a tripod, as an amateur, mostly because I have problems with my back and shooting with the tripod seems a great sollution if I need to wait for a best composition etc. Still I will take to consideretion your advices about buying different tripod.
