Photos NOT OK to edit
My nephew has had a few of his games cancelled recently but yesterday was a beautiful day so I decided I needed an afternoon off and grabbed the new Sigma 300 MM f/2.8 Sport and went click happy and boy was I happy. I like everything about that lens, hope you do too

No idea how he missed from 3 feet lol

A few more

My nephew getting a penalty lol

And getting another penalty

ANd here he is NOT getting a penalty, only cause there wasn't anyone close enough to hit lol

Thanks for looking

That lens sure is crisp.

I really enjoy shooting with it, the focus is really quick. I can't wait for hockey and football seasons to get here :D

That lens sure is crisp.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe I'll have to invest...

Nice set! Looks like you both had fun!

Cheers,
Jake

Nice shootin' Bill

Thanks guys, I really am thrilled with the lens. Focus wise the keeper rate was way up there, about 90%. When I locked on it stayed locked on. I was shooting the D800 in 1.2 crop mode to speed it up just a little as suggested by Kris. Here is a three shot sequence:

And one more sequence, this kid ran around the entire game with his tongue hanging out lol

Yeah Bill, they look great! It is pretty amazing what a lens put together for 1/2 the price of Canonikon and a super sharp zoom to boot. Did you shoot most of these wide open? For some reason it wasn't in the exif info except for one I saw F4... Glad that crop mode worked out for you!

Thanks Kris

I started the game at f/4 and changed to f/2.8 as the sun went a little lower. Not that I really needed to, I just wanted to try a few different things with it.
