Hung two ornaments from the ceiling..

Did a little PP not much, cloned out the thin thread they were hung by.

They don't really stand out from the background, they're a bit to dark. Maybe the flash is a bit to strong in the reflection. Like the idea though!

yeah had a hard time trying to get them to stand out. I couldn't get them to stand out, and I had a little home light pointing at the ornaments. It was probably my best idea, but I couldn't execute it to the best of my abilities. I think it would have helped to have some sort of OCF.


I wanted them to be in focus with the background of the tree in Bokeh, with the outline of the tree so it looks like they are decorating the 'bokeh tree' if ya will.

The specular highlight is too small, too hot, and too centered. Move the umbrella (hopefully) closer to your ornaments and up/over a bit. Then add a rim light to separate the ornaments from the background. Also, some color to the background lights. Even if it's Photoshop color, add some. Pure white Xmas lights are so boring to me, but that's nit-picking.

A little of both. I have no clue about indoor photography lol but what I can say is these ornaments do NOT stand out whatsoever from your bokeh. Have you tired taking this during the day when you had better light and didn't need the flash? I had posted a thread on here with a few of my Xmas ornaments I took these at 9 or 10 in the am with no need for flash. I kind of find the red and silver/white ornaments a bit on the boring side too.
